The Mohawk College Research Ethics Board (REB) is hosting monthly Virtual Office Hours throughout the Fall term to help you navigate the ethics review process with confidence.
Whether you are a faculty researcher, staff member, or student investigator, these drop-in sessions offer direct, one-on-one guidance from REB members in an informal environment.
How We Can Help
During office hours, REB members are available to assist with:
- Determining Necessity: Find out if your project requires REB review or qualifies for an exemption.
- Application Preparation: Get guidance on completing your REB application smoothly.
- Participant Materials: Review consent forms, recruitment plans, and survey tools.
- Ethical Guidance: Clarify feedback on existing applications or discuss unique research design considerations.

Sessions take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Microsoft Teams:

REB approval is mandatory before any recruitment or data collection with human participants can begin. To keep your research timeline on track, we strongly recommend seeking guidance early. (Note: Student submissions must be completed under the supervision of a faculty sponsor).
